This Gal

Involuntary logophile. Solo world traveller. Stained glass artisan and jeweler. Proud owner of 2 green thumbs and reluctant owner of 2 left feet. Compulsive gift-giver. Lifelong learner. Perpetually learning a new craft. Please let me bake, knit, or weld you something. Mouth is typically filled with cheese. Outdoor lover, environmentalist, and resident plant freak. I will probably attempt to make you laugh. It might not work. Just go along with it please!

This Gal’s Instructional Design Philosophy

A strong instructional designer is a strong listener. Adapting to your learners needs is imperative in an ecosystem where we are constantly bombarded with a surplus of information and a deficit of time to sift through the noise.

Therefore it is the ID’s job to pinpoint the necessary information, identify the proper training medium, and of course execute and deliver in a creative and engaging way. For adult learners, this almost always entails multiple forms of active engagement.

This is what thrills me about ID in the tech age; I love experimenting with mixing different channels and methodologies. As a perpetually curious soul, my other favorite thing about ID is getting to interact with Subject Matter Experts of varying backgrounds. It’s a privilege to experience life through hundreds of different highly polished and uniquely shaped keyholes.

Im hired by companies, but I work for the learners.
